Gamma DURF

There is a world of wonderful magic and incredible technology. Flying cars, interstellar spaceships, thaumaturges summoning and operating entire armies of robotic thralls, creating something from pure nothing by the simple expedient of pressing buttons on their wonderful magical machines.  

That world is in the far away past now. It has been centuries since the end times and the world has been irreparably changed. Skeletons of ancient war machines litter the landscape, seeping out mysterious fluids that change the very nature around them. Ancient cities lie in ruin, patrolled by robotic thralls desperately trying to maintain crumbling facades and remove the foliage that consumes all. Vast deserts, eerie forests and dense jungles have claimed the world of the ancients. The world that has come after them has been forever changed by the consequences of the end. Peoples, plants and animals have all been changed, mutated into wondrous and terrifying new forms. They are the mutants and they have inherited the world.

You are one of those mutants. Seeking treasure, thrills and answers you plumb the depths of the ruins that the ancients left behind. Make sure that you find something other than death in there.

Gamma DURF is a hack of the excellent DURF system by Emiel Boven that brings OSR-inspired, rules-light dungeon adventuring to the mutated post-apocalypse, inspired by Gamma World, Mutant, Rifts and Mutant Crawl Classics.

Featuring a simple system for generating varied and strange mutated PCs, a quick and dirty procedure for generating mutated NPC creatures, a system for identification and use of mysterious and powerful ancient artifacts, all of which are simple additions to the basic gameplay from the original DURF, keeping the game easy to pick up and smooth to play.

Being a hack of DURF that mainly adds on to the original rather than fundamentally changing it, it is also fully compatible with the various adventures and supplements for DURF you can find in the DURF Collection.
